The navigation has 2 million points of interest and includes the newest technology on the market! Included is maps of US and Canada. The maps get stored on the included SD Card. The reason this is better than hard drive based navigation is because it loads faster, and you can always update new maps in the future very easily.
You can watch a DVD in the back seat, or listen to a CD while the maps get read through the SD Card. When a turn or direction is coming up, the music will pause, and the navigation will announce the next direction, and the music will then resume. This way you will never miss a turn! Even if you do manage to miss a turn because you were in the wrong lane, the navigation will automatically re-route you.
You will get turn by turn voice guidance, and a selection of on screen 2D or 3D map views, or a split screen with 2D and 3D map views. The on screen navigation display will display the distance to the next turn, the distance from your destination, and the estimated time of arrival to your destination.
You can zoom in or out to the map with an incredible range of 1/16 of a mile to 128 miles.
You can even display the navigation in the front monitor through the SD card, and then watch a movie in the rear (that option is not available when using it with the vm9212n or a non dual-zone receiver).
This navigation offers many search options to find an address. You can search for a destination by zip code, city, address, or intersection. You can search for a point of interest by distance, name, and more.
The navigation will be controlled through the touch screen controls of your compatible Jensen monitor.
